My life line, my baby, MY PRECIOUS!!!
Okay, maybe it's not that big of a deal. Usually I would feel powerless about this situation, but not this time! Today had to be one of the first days in years where I haven't used my phone at all. That's incredible! I remember the first time I was given a cellphone. It was 5th grade and I had begged my mom for months just to have one. She gave me her old one as a Christmas present, but it didn't matter, I was proud and showed it off to my friends.
This morning, I was foolish enough to leave my oh-so-sensitive and slippery phone on the edge of my bed. Face down it fell, on the cold tile floors. The inside screen is shattered and that was the brief life of my Nokia Lumia 1020.
Though it's all about looking at the bright side of things.
I used to think it was strange for my old roommate to occasionally leave her lifeline on her desk when she left to go places. (I'm not sure which places, but places). Living a day without a phone opened my eyes to all the possibilities of life beyond that tiny screen. I FELT SO ALIVE!
Though I can't say I don't miss it. I'm pretty sure I have a received a million messages by now. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a mob out there looking for me.
Even with this tiny mishap, I still managed to enjoy my day. Hey, I may even do this again. Well, technically I will have to for these next couple of days, until I get my new one... Ugh.
