Do you know about film?

So I'm in my third photography class now. Whoopee!
What does that mean?
Well, now I have to start using film cameras. Just when I got so used to using my digital! :/
But I'm a big girl so I can handle this! I have been told that film is not as hard as it looks. The development stages just take a little gettin used to. Hopefully this will be a good experience.
Here is a look at my first film camera!

Canon AE-1

Technically, this is not my camera, I borrowed it from a fellow colleague. Though it is the first film camera I have ever used.
Looking around at different blogs, such as: Lust for Life, Fashion Toast, ashtray girl, and Zanita; just to name a few, I feel like I need to step up my photo game! These pictures I took with my phone, which is okay for an amateur blogger. But for a photographer? No not really, my skills are kind of slacking.
Well, with hard work comes success. Sometimes.

Back In Action!

So it's been about a week of school and so far everything is going pretty well. Getting back in the swing of things is a little difficult since I have had three months off, but I'm trying!
Yesterday my bestfriend came to visit, which was awesome. Today, my grandparents stopped by and we ate at IHOP; of which I was fairly surprised by the good service and food. Even though I enjoy being here I can't say I don't miss my friends and family at least a wiggle bit. College life is tough, cause ultimately you're doing this alone. But I continue to keep my spirits up with YouTube and campus events.
Still trying to update as much as I can. Like I said, I'd rather not stick to schedules, because of my work load. But there is more to come later! So stick around!

I know you guys like pictures, so here's a random one!

Move-In Crew Is No Joke!

So I participated in the move-in crew at my school these past couple of days.
And today I will applaude myself. The move-in crew is no joke!
Back-breaking work to help hundreds of students move into their new dorms. Though there is a silver lining! While moving in tons of students I was able to communicate with others and network.
A great experience to be a part of, if it is offered at your school!

Quick tip: This quick tip is for anyone moving into a new dorm.
NEVER BRING THE MOST!
That means, never bring huge amounts of decorative items, storage, clothes, cleaning supplies, planks of wood, or anything along those lines. Reason being: eventually you will have to pack all of those things back on a Uhaul and transport them again. If you are living far away from your college, plan out your living area. Because most times you will find that your space may not be spacious enough. Also, take avantage of shipping items to the campus or using discounts from stores in the area to buy supplies.
This time around for my sophomore year, I planned out all of my important supplies to bring with me. Only about 4 containers and two suit cases full of items, but that was it. Today I unpacked 1 Uhaul, 6 trucks and 8 cars; making constant trips back and forth. I'm not saying bring the bare minimum! But just take into account how many times during that year you will visit the bookstore, grocery stores, clothing stores, and buy something. And how much space you going to leave for your roommate...

So that's my quick tip. I have been busy these past couple of days moving into my dorm and getting ready for classes. But hopefully I can continue to post content in a timely manner. This is the only reason I'm not on an everyday schedule. College is way too unpredictable!

Motivation & Sherlock

It's 1:53 in the morning and I'm trying to get motivated for school tomorrow.
What's wrong with this picture?
I go back to my college tomorrow (Savannah College of Art and Design), go look it up it's a great school. Though I just cannot seem to get myself out of this melancholy mood. Not even a shopping trip could ease the pain! And that's serious! So I figured I might as well talk it out on my blog, maybe this will make me feel a little better.
So I looked up a couple of motivational quotes to help inspire.

But then I got distracted and moved on to Sherlock quotes..

Yes! That does make me feel better.
Maybe it's the feeling of anxiety creeping back up on me again. Or the feeling of failure or not making enough friends or not experiencing anything that has my stomach in knots. Whatever it is, hopefully it will go away by tomorrow.
I think I see a vlogging opportunity in my future...
Honestly, I have no clue what I am saying, I'm way too tired.
Just a personal post, I guess.

Have a great school year guys!

Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall!

Summer is almost over!
And I leave to go back to school in 3 days!

Am I excited? Yes!
Am I nervous? HELL YES!

Hopefully I can make this year extraordinary; unlike my freshman year.
If you are going through college, it's useful to remember that you should never be afraid to take chances. I don't mean take the chance on turning in a project late or disrespecting authority, but on the simpler things in life. Such as, joining a club or going to that once in a lifetime lecture. Those are the moments you will remember most. Maybe your moments are a little more exciting than mine, and if so then great! As long as it's not getting in the way of your education and you're not breaking any laws, then do it. Go enjoy yourself!

Any who!  Summer is almost over, but that means FALL IS ON ITS WAY!
My favorite season! If you can tell.
That means: cozy polka-dot socks, hot peach tea, cuddling with your significant teddy bear (cause you're #single), and indoor frozen yogurt movie nights!

Fall is just the best, ain't it?

Photography

Continuing to update my blog with the lovely and compelling photographs I have taken.
Until then I have some I would like to share.

Photography is one of my many passions.
Though, now I believe that editing may be another.
What do you think? I would love feedback!

Visited St. Augustine, FL. today!
Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of the oldest city in the nation. So here are some photos of the trip back.

Sorry about the grainy pictures. Still improving on my photography skills.

Nostalgia & Movies

Every time I watch Forrest Gump, I have these intense moments of nostalgia.
I have seen the movie no less than 50 times. But there are those moments where I wish I could go back and maybe watch, listen, or feel it for the first time, again! Just like reading a new book or listening to a new song on the radio.

Music, Old, Radio, Speaker

The more you see it or listen to it, that impression can sometimes wear off.

Luckily, not everything has worn off when I see Forrest Gump!
I cry every time I see Gump over Jenny's grave.

So I decided to make a quick list on some movies I loved growing up as a kid. This list will be short because I may do this again.

!. Forrest Gump
@. Independence Day
#. Twister
$. Spirited Away
%. The Lion King
^. The Sixth Sense (I was a weird kid)
&. Toy Story
*. Wizard of Oz
What were your favorite movies?

Next week I will be off to school again in Savannah, GA. Unfortunately, the day I leave will be my grandmother's birthday. So, with the little extra money I had as a college student, I decided to splurge at Target and buy her a couple of small gifts.

So this is what you can buy at Target for less than $20...Just this.
But that's okay! She knows I have no money.

Pink Magnolia candle: $7.99
Owl Candle holder: $4.99
Guess What card: $3.99

I know she'll love this.
And if you want to know what...
Go visit Target! And tell me what you find out!

Sleep: College Life

Never feel sleep deprived again!
Here are some very quick tips for getting that much needed rest you deserve.

Alarm, Bell, Clock, Morning, Sleep, Time

  • Exercise regularly! But avoid doing it after the early evening.
  • Try not to drink coffee after 2 p.m. and avoid late night eating. (Side note: Cold water wakes you up faster than coffee does in the morning)
  • Only make your bed a place to sleep. Avoid doing work or watching television on your bed during the day.
  • If you are in college and have early classes, it's best not to sleep in. Staying on a regular schedule is crucial.
  • Avoid taking naps during the day. But if you do, then take them before 3 p.m. and for only 20 minutes at a time.
  • Set your alarm clock in the evening to a reasonable bed time.
So go ahead!
