And today I will applaude myself. The move-in crew is no joke!
Back-breaking work to help hundreds of students move into their new dorms. Though there is a silver lining! While moving in tons of students I was able to communicate with others and network.
A great experience to be a part of, if it is offered at your school!
Quick tip: This quick tip is for anyone moving into a new dorm.
NEVER BRING THE MOST!
That means, never bring huge amounts of decorative items, storage, clothes, cleaning supplies, planks of wood, or anything along those lines. Reason being: eventually you will have to pack all of those things back on a Uhaul and transport them again. If you are living far away from your college, plan out your living area. Because most times you will find that your space may not be spacious enough. Also, take avantage of shipping items to the campus or using discounts from stores in the area to buy supplies.
This time around for my sophomore year, I planned out all of my important supplies to bring with me. Only about 4 containers and two suit cases full of items, but that was it. Today I unpacked 1 Uhaul, 6 trucks and 8 cars; making constant trips back and forth. I'm not saying bring the bare minimum! But just take into account how many times during that year you will visit the bookstore, grocery stores, clothing stores, and buy something. And how much space you going to leave for your roommate...
So that's my quick tip. I have been busy these past couple of days moving into my dorm and getting ready for classes. But hopefully I can continue to post content in a timely manner. This is the only reason I'm not on an everyday schedule. College is way too unpredictable!
